Editorial Style – Effortlessly You

Candid, artful wedding & lifestyle photography in Australia and worldwide.

Hello, I’m Maddy – a wedding, maternity, and creative photographer based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Life here is full and vibrant, shared with my husband Dan and our two boys, Finn and Rocco. Firstly I wanted to share a little bit behind the scenes and life before the business…

Thanks for being here and taking the time to read a little about me. Before I ever picked up a camera, my life looked completely different. I spent seven years in the mining industry in Western Australia, before working offshore on oil rigs where I met my husband. Somewhere between long shifts on oil rigs and endless travel, life took a turn: I fell pregnant, left that world behind, and began a whole new chapter.

While raising our first son, I felt this pull to do something just for myself. That’s when I enrolled in Gemma Peanut’s 101 Photography Course. Not long after, my husband surprised me with a Canon R5, and suddenly I had the tools — I just needed the practice. I threw myself into it, shooting countless sessions for friends for free, learning with every click. Eventually, all that practice turned into paid work, and then into something much bigger: a business I truly love and something I am truly passionate about.

I fell pregnant with our second son Rocco at only 9 months PP and not long after we moved back to Queensland to be closer to family. Juggling motherhood and photography hasn’t always been easy, but it has been so rewarding. Slowly but surely, I found my rhythm, fell in love with the storytelling side of photography, and discovered a special passion for weddings — the fashion details, the emotions, and the fleeting little moments that make each day unique.

I began reaching out to established photographers, offering to assist and second-shoot just to learn. Each experience taught me something new and shaped the way I approach my own work today. For me it’s not about hustling endlessly or chasing big numbers. My health and my family always come first, which is why I only take on a limited number of weddings each year — so I can give every couple my full heart and energy.

Documenting Your Story in Digital and Film

Weddings will always be the heart of my work. They’re not just events – they’re about love, connection, and the people who make your world feel full. I’m here to capture it all: the joy, the beautifully curated details, and those fleeting in-between moments that become your most cherished memories.

Through both digital and film photography, I aim to preserve your story exactly as it felt, so you can relive those emotions for decades to come.

Each gallery I create is thoughtfully infused with artistry, style, and a modern editorial feel.

A Creative Eye for More Than Weddings

While weddings are my main focus, my creativity doesn’t like to stay in one box. I’ve always been drawn to beautiful, meaningful moments – whether that’s the anticipation of motherhood during a maternity session or the chance to bring a vision to life in a styled creative shoot. I love weaving art, fashion, travel, and interiors into my work, giving each gallery an editorial feel that’s timeless, modern, and uniquely you.

My Approach

I work intuitively and efficiently, capturing portraits that feel natural and effortless. My goal is for you to be present in the moment – laughing with your friends, holding your partner close, celebrating freely – while I quietly document the magic as it unfolds.

Most clients tell me they feel at ease in front of my camera, and that’s exactly how I want you to feel. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader, blending in like a trusted friend while creating images that feel authentic, artful, and true to you.
